Long Island, New Yo
rk
Winter is Coming...
His name is Shadow. He is an 8-10 yr old former feral, now tamed & friendly cat living in the harsh outdoor world. He used to be feral, but his care taker has worked with him over the years and he's now a friendly outdoor kitty, still skittish but warms up quickly.
His life has been wonderful but is taking a turn for the worst. There's a beautiful family of red fox that have slowly moved into "his" territory!!! He has been surrounded in the middle of the night by them & forced to defend himself. The fox steal his food every evening now and if they get hungry enough...the care taker cannot bring him in due to other animals that all need to be kept separated from each other for a variety of reasons.
SHADOW is beginning to show signs of getting older now that he's about 10. With winter coming, the situation is not a good one for this older kitty!

Hi -about the 2 cats that I have and need to find homes for in the very near, close future. I have a male (Noel) and a female (Buffy) and they are 7.5 and 7 years old. I am unfortunately commited to taking a place to live and they do not allow pets. I am heartbroken, but I really have to make this move. My daughter is pretty upset about this and she would be happier, just as I would, to see them taken in the care of "someone" and not getting dropped off at a shelter. I am attaching pictures of them as well. I rescued both of them about 6 months apart from one another. They were both spayed and neuters, given all of their preliminary shots and tested for feline leukemia and feline AIDS. They have been indoor cats so I never brought them back for the "yearly shots" . Noel, is a bigger cat, he isn't really a lap cat, but does like affection and is a bit more playful than Buffy is at times. Buffy is thin to me, but she seems to get along fine so I never decided to take her to the vet. She is a bit skittish and really takes her time to warm up to a person. She will cuddle once she gets comfortable. They both have their claws and have never destroyed anything furniture wise. I do have a multi-tiered cat condo and they seem to take their scratching needs on that as well as sleep on it. I am moving to my new place on the 1st. I can probably keep them where I am for a week beyond that, but that would really be it. So I would need them adopted by October 8th. Here is my cell phone if you have any other questions for me please call or text me. 732-306-3846. Thanks so much.

Jillian #A866730
Just over 2 years old, unspayed 5.5 lb. female, return adoption by owner due to illness. Beautiful, sweet cat had URI. Came in (returned actually) on August 19, 2010. Been interred in a small cage at this godforsaken shelter for 25 days now. Isn't it enough already?

Jillian is cute, she's sweet, she's attentive, she's funny, she's affectionate, she's a lot of things... all good. She has no fear
of strangers, in fact she adores everyone who visits with her. She's comfortable in her own skin and she makes you comfortable too. A special kitty who anyone can love.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
OK everyone: purrsonal favor this time. This poor cat is sharing territory with a bear- you heard me- a bear. But it keeps coming back for the only affection and food is what my friends' elderly mother provides- long story as to why she cannot come inside this lady's home... but she will provide all vetting to bring this kitteh up to speed for a safe home/rescue.
This one is causing serious issues between me and my hubby since I so badly need to see this cat off the street ( and since the Quincy problem he adamantly says NO) before the cold snaps.. or it gets into it with racoon, bear or coyote ( this is in West Milford).. please crosspost far and wide. Super friendly, affectionate, sweet stray- all vetting will be done- transport avail directly within reason, otherwise arrangements can be made. Please help this cat, and indirectly, help me.... thank you very much.

ionate abandoned cat needs home ASAP !!!

Vetting will be provided - This is such a sweet cat !!!! Please help

see pix attached

Hi all ,

This is a pix of the stray cat that is now living outside my mom's house. My mom has an older blind, diabetic dog and cannot take on another pet.

The cat tries to get in my mom's house all the time. She is providing food and water and offered to pay for aids/leukemia test, vaccinations, altering (if needed), Frontline, worming. She is not sure if it is a male or female.

The cat sleeps in my mom's bushes every night. So sad, because she lives in a development and someone "dumped" the poor thing.

Do you know of anyone who would be interested in adopting or fostering?
I will take care of

all the vet necessities prior so he/she will be vetted first.

Sorry pix are not the best, they were taken with a phone.

Thanks
Doreen

Has seafoam green eyes although they look gold.

Matlin is 2 1/2 yrs old, recently spayed, not vetted. Tortie bobtail. In-your-face loving kitty. Oral - will give love nips and nurse your earlobe if you let her. Perpetual kitten into everything. Loves dogs

justice for buster the cat-please sign petition

as many who know me know,i am more or less a feline advocate.
so if that makes me a "crazy cat lady",so be it.i've been called worse..
anyway-so when i hear such a horrific tale as poor buster's,i have to spread the word.

buster was a tabby who was..immolated,basically..ALIVE by some sick, cruel people.
now wolf, some people would say.."he was just an animal"..
and animal who was loved, and cherished by somebody.an animal with feelings, that feels pain.
UNLIKE THE PERSON WHO DID THIS.

if they can kill an animal, watch it die in pain, and laugh..they can easily kill something else.maybe a human next time.then is it more important?

anyway, before i get too radical up in here..
please sign the petition to strengthen the law's hand againt sick bastards like this-
and throw them in jail where they belong.
that poor cat :(

cats needing home/fostering in NJ

repost:

Two very lovable male cats (up todate on shots and neutered) need a loving home .Ishan and Ozzy's time is running out. Ishan and Ozzy are brothers for 13 years. Ishan needs insulin twice a day because he is a diabetic but other wise they are healthy. They are both wonderful cats, Ishan loves to lay around all day. He's a big mush, he is really sweet. Ozzy needs time to get to know you, but is very loveable also. They are both really great cats, they need to go to a home together. It would be great if they went to a home with children or someone who can pay them the attention they need.It wouldn't be fare to let these's little guys be euthuanised. Hopefully there is room in your heart for them.

another cat needing help:

(picture does not show injuries-this cat has open wounds)

This poor boy is located at a vet clinic in Hamilton, IL. The county doesn’t help with cats so when the animal control told the teenagers there was nothing he could do to help, they brought this boy into my vets office. He was found in horrible condition with the skin on his stomach hanging off and his skin is falling off in pieces. No money, stray cat with no owner.....he didn’t have many options. It is believed he was hit by a car and drug underneath it. He is incredibly friendly and outgoing, even in the shape he is in. Now what is going to become of him…euthanasia, turned loose back to the streets????? These kids that brought him in can’t take him or pay the bill, with no animal control here for cats this Tom needs your help. He is expected a full recovery so please if you can help donate towards his bill you can call vet office Hancock Veterinary Clinic, at 217-847-3911 or if you can rescue him, please contact Westhancockk9@mchsi.com. Transport to Chicago is available!!
